My name is Krista and I am a fellow horse lover. I grew up in North Dakota with all kinds of animals...really it was old McDonald's Farm! I showed my livestock at many fairs around the state. Youth associations, such as 4-H and FFA have taken me very far in my livestock experiences and now career. I have many wonderful memories to look back upon. My sisters and I made up the North Dakota State Champion FFA Horse Judging team and went on to compete at nationals in Louisville,KY. It was a fun time in the heart of horse country and we came home with a silver award. I also enjoyed coaching youth in 4-H Hippology. It is an enjoyable experience teaching kids that are so eager to learn about horses. I have some good memories competing in NBHA, AQHA, High School Rodeo and other local rodeos. I can give all my success to my trusty American Quarter horse named "Roman". When I was in High School I trained quite a few outside horses for people. I attended many clinics on natural horsemanship techniques. One of my favorite moments was meeting John Lyons at a little clinic with about 30 people. It was nice to not be just a person in a huge crowd.
I attended a local University taking some tough equine classes for the fun of it and a graphic design course offered for free at college. I also took an A.I. Course from Amy Gumz, of the well known Gumz farms. During college I also enjoyed giving riding lessons to 4-H kids. The summer before I graduated from college I worked for a reining trainer and breeding operation. I learned a lot that will help me for many years to come. I really like breeding horses and would like to add to my broodmare band.
I met my husband in college and shortly after I graduated we got married. Of course I had to make sure this cowboy knew how to ride, so our first date was a horseback ride. It was a wonderful ride and 3 years later when I graduated we got married. Now we reside in central North Dakota. We both enjoy our American Quarter Horses. Since we are newly weds the dream of showing, rodeoing or building up a broodmare band is on hold until we can save enough money. Right now I put many miles on my horses helping neighbors bring cattle home and sort them. However, chasing cattle is just as much fun for me as going to an equine event.
So your probably wondering how I got the idea for OnlyCuttingHorses.com? After launching OnlyReiningHorses.com, I saw a huge need for a similar website for cutting horses. My sisters and I have sold performance horses in the past. I always feel my horse's ad gets lost in the web pages with thousands of other horses. I cannot afford to pay $100 for a special ad just to get noticed, its ridiculous, what has to be done to get your horse noticed? I also got tired of saving tons of passwords and User id's. I was tired of having to log in to see if I received any response, thats why on OnlyCuttingHorses.com the customer can contact you by your e-mail.
